The oceans will chew you up and spit you back out if you are not tough enough, but with these tips you’ll be diving deep in no time.
Gameplay
You don't have to go for every bubble that spawns. The drain rate of oxygen stays consistent as the game goes on and bubbles will spawn constantly. Unless you are nearing <50% it might not be a smart idea to put yourself in harm's way by rushing for a bubble. Your screen will start to get blurry as your oxygen decreases to dangerous levels.
Swimming at 300 fathoms deep is not easy! Every time you change the diver's direction there is a small delay before he reaches full speed again. Try to account for this acceleration factor when you're going for those risky plays or navigating between multiple enemies!
Your weapon should be used as a last resort. You don't earn anything for incapacitating enemies besides getting them out of the way. The best advice is to save the spear for situations where you are stuck very close between two enemies or if there is a health kit/bubble pick up right on top of an enemy.
Don't give up hope too easily! Even if your oxygen reaches 0 the game will not end right away, instead, your health will start draining rapidly. If you can find some bubbles quick there might be hope of salvaging the run. Maybe you will even come across a med kit to top you back up.
Enemies
Every enemy type does different amounts of damage. In general, the rarer enemy types do more damage. If you're ever in a situation where you're out of ammo and stuck between multiple enemies, you can make a pragmatic decision and tank the creature that will do less damage to you.
The direction of the shark changes every time it spawns. In fact, even the height at which it collides at the edge of the screen will change every once in a while. Study it's movement and speed carefully as these are the only consistent factors!
Watch out for those pesky eels! Get too close to them and they will teach you the definition of pain.
Your spear is disabled during boss events so you're not going to be able to shoot your way out of those situations. Instead, focus all your attention in learning the pattern of enemies.
Upgrades and Doubloons
It is highly recommended to spend your first few doubloons on HP and Oxygen. This will allow you to survive longer each run and really start racking up those doubloons.
You can earn extra doubloons by watching an ad after the run is over! This offer is only available 3 times a day so make sure to take advantage of it.
You also get doubloons for finishing achievements. Make sure to check out the achievements tab to see your progress on certain goals. The earnings are extremely good for the higher tier milestones!
